This project is part of the 2018 Grants to Technology Centers and research and knowledge dissemination organizations for the implementation of R&D projects in the modality of Project with VW-Navarra tractor company.
The overall objective of this project is to research in high-level Artificial Intelligence, going from automating specific systems to generate technologies with which to provide intelligence and autonomy to engineering systems as complex as a factory. Following the needs identified in the automotive sector with Volkswagen as the driving force, Ai-FACTORY focuses on the virtualization and complete automation of industrial thermal conditioning facilities and their operation through a thermal power plant. For this purpose, technological challenges are posed in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins and Deep Learning.
Expected results
The technologies resulting from this project will therefore have a wide field of application in industry. In addition to future technology transfer work to VOLKSWAGEN as a tractor company, the focus on industrial energy processes will facilitate its transfer to other entities. Specifically, the sectors with the highest energy consumption in the thermal adaptation of their plants have been identified (automotive and transport material manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, opto-electronic products manufacturing and metal products manufacturing) which, according to the Industrial Plan of Navarra 2020, group 44.1% of the industrial companies in Navarra, among which AIN has more than 215 clients.
